Leather Jackets for Kids
Do you want to buy a leather jacket for your little boy? Let us help you out.
Nothing is more fun and educational than buying a leather jacket for your little son. Like all kids’ clothes, little boys’ leather jackets are so cute, that you will want to buy them all! Plus, you can’t go wrong with a leather jacket for a kid – because kids are never interested in their body types or the season’s trends! So making a choice is easy.
However, be sure to pick the right size for your son. If the jacket is too tight, he will simply refuse to wear it, or if it is too loose, he may look like he borrowed it from an older male relative. Normally, your son’s shirt size should be a good marker, but if you’re confused, just take him along for the ride.
There’s no right or wrong jacket. Whatever the style, or no matter how many embellishments are on the jacket, little boys’ jackets always look good. Some children prefer zips and pockets (to store all their treasures and secret finds in) while others will insist on a cool hoodie. Get him whatever he wants – after all, letting him choose the jacket will not only help him make better fashion choices, but he will also refuse to wear the jacket if you buy one that he didn’t like in the first place.
Let him come along. Unless you plan for it to be a surprise or if you know exactly what he will like, it is simply better to take him along for your shopping trip. Let him try on a few jackets, or ask for a specific style. Also involve him in the final decision – if you feel the jacket he has picked is impractical or too expensive, explain why you don’t think his choice is wise. This exercise will help him shop sensibly and inculcate the habit of not just picking something that suits his looks, but also his budget.
Get him a jacket like his favourite superhero. Every little boy has a superhero inside him, and that superhero dresses a particular way. If your son’s chosen hero is not a jacket-wearing one, try and look for a jacket that will have the superhero tacked on to the back. Some boys will insist on outlandish jackets with capes “Just like Batman!” so if you’re clever with a needle and a thread, get him a plain leather jacket over which you can lightly sew a cape when the fancy hits him.
Army style jackets. Young boys are enchanted by stories of the army, and to them, army men are the last word in ‘cool’. Naturally, they will gravitate towards leather jackets with badges and emblems sewn over them. Help him add a badge of his own – maybe a Boy Scout achievement badge or a symbol of a competition he won at school. This jacket will be extra special in his eyes.
